Loreto Resort Hotel
ACTIVITIES
|
Days at the resort hotel are filled with kayaking, hiking, swimming, snorkeling, exploring and just plain relaxing. Depending on weather, tides, and group interest, guided activities may include:
• KAYAKING DAY TRIP to the islands of Loreto Marine Park
•
DESERT CANYON HIKE in nearby Tabor Canyon
•
Panga trip to El Cosmé to soak in THERMALLY HEATED TIDE POOLS
• Panga trip to view feeding BLUE, FIN, AND HUMPBACK WHALES
On the KAYAKING DAY TRIP you will cross to the remote beaches of Danzante Island in the Loreto Marine Park. Secluded white sand beaches, azure seas and brilliant blue skies are home to frigate birds, osprey, pelicans, dolphins, sea lions, rays and a myriad of tropical fish. We may even catch an occasional glimpse of a spouting whale or surfacing sea turtle on this remarkable trek. This kayaking day trip will be a memorable adventure. No experience is required! New to kayaking? Don't worry . . . as long as you are in reasonable health and can paddle, you'll be able to kayak with us. Our skilled instructors will teach you the basics and then as much more as you want to learn. |

The TABOR CANYON HIKE is a full day guided excursion up a beautiful desert canyon just a few miles from our Loreto Resort Hotel. It is an intermediate (grade 4) hike, where your challenge will be rewarded by hidden pools, palm trees, flowers, exquisite rock formations, and a waterfall! Our naturalist guides will be there to help and support you, as well as interpret the incredible desert geology, flora and fauna, insuring a rewarding day for all. A not-to-be-missed experience! |
The excursion to the THERMALLY HEATED TIDE POOLS at El Cosmé is fun and relaxing for individuals, couples and families. We travel by panga about 20 miles down the coast, viewing the steep and inaccessible terrain of the Sierra La Giganta Mountains from the water. The high point is a daytime soak in remote thermally heated tidal pools. Optional guided snorkeling opportunities are available nearby. |

The panga trip to see FEEDING BLUE AND HUMPBACK WHALES can be a stunning experience. At certain times of the year, Humpback, Fin, and the rare Blue Whales, the earth's largest mammals, can be viewed feeding in the waters of the Loreto Marine Park. When this occurs the whales are usually accompanied by large schools of dolphins. This is a unique and not-to-be missed wildlife viewing opportunity. |
