Yucatan Tour Guides

Aluxa is in her fourth year with Blue Waters Kayaking as a lead guide and Baja and Yucatan program manager. She is a Certified Yoga Teacher and enjoys any opportunity to teach class or help people improve their personal yoga practice. Aluxa is schooled as an Urban Planner and has been involved in environmental & cultural education and awareness from 1991 to 2003. She loves the outdoors and ocean environments and is a trained naturalist. She is a skilled sea kayaker and safety is a priority for her.

Our destination program to the Yucatan Peninsula is the fruit of Aluxa’s three-year journey to reconnect with her homeland. Working with her local family and local expert guides, she has explored the coastline, numerous Mayan ruin sites and inner lagoons to design our tour program. The tours we offer provide participants with the opportunity to experience the best that the area has to offer. Aluxa has nicknamed this program, “Beyond Cancun,” because her hope is to share the cultural richness and ecological beauty that is becoming harder and harder to find as BIG Tourism changes the landscape of the Caribe Mexicano to high rise hotels and resorts.
