2008 Yucatan Tour Guides

Aluxa Lalicker was born and lived in the Yucatan from 1982 to 1989. Her father's side of the family has been in the tourism industry in the Yucatan for more than thirty years and her father currently operates snorkeling and diving trips in southern Yucatan to Banco chinchoro, the largest coral atoll in the northern hemisphere. In hosting the tours to the Yucatan she hopes to share the cultural richness and ecological beauty that is becoming harder to discover as the area grows into a mega-Cancun.

Aluxa is in her third year with the Blue Waters Kayaking as a lead guide and Baja and Yucatan program manager. She is a Certified Yoga Teacher and enjoys any opportunity to teach class or help people improve their personal yoga practice. Aluxa is schooled as an Urban Planner and has been involved in environmental & cultural education and awareness for 5 years. She loves the outdoors and ocean environments and is a trained naturalist. She is a skilled sea kayaker and safety is her priority.
